Being new in any environment can be a little unsettling. Even if we have been church all of our life, every church does something different. So, with that in mind, we thought we would give you an idea of what to expect and why we do things a certain way.

You are welcome the way you are. On the "outside," how you dress is not a big deal, as long as you come dressed. As for the "inside," God can handle where you are at and we trust Him with you.

Worship can be a time of intimacy with God. The lights are dimmed in the sanctuary during praise and worship. The altar area is open during every praise & worship time to give you an opportunity to dance before the Lord or kneel before the altar of the Lord. As for the music, you will hear every type from contemporary worship, traditional worship, and original worship songs.

The elders and congregation seek to let God have His way in every service. We strive to be led by Holy Spirit and allow Him complete control. We do believe in the gifts of the Spirit and that they operate still today. (1 Cor. 12:8-12) If the Lord wants to speak a word of wisdom, or have us pray for healing, we want to be sensitive to that leading. All things should be done in decency and in order. We all submit to one another, honoring elders as they have a responsiblity to God concerning our souls.

The bible tells us that Jesus gave us Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. The church has had just one pastor per church in many cases for a long time, but there are many that have that heart of a shepherd, which is what the word "pastor" means. Here at The Point we call those who have a heart to care for God's people, "Shepherds." We are blessed with many shepherds who are availabe to answer your questions, minister to your needs and direct you to Jesus. The shepherds help Senior Pastors Rick and Annette meet the needs of all the people.

We believe in giving and tithing. Generally, someone will pray over the giving right before praise and worship because we believe giving is part of our worship to God. At that time, it is asked you bring your offering to the front bakets at each corner of the stage. However, if you are not comfortable going to the front, there are offering baskets located on the side walls and back walls.

Communion is available every service. The early church did it every time they gathered to remind them of what Jesus did. The communion elements are available on both sides of the sanctuary each service so that when you are moved to partake of the elements you are able to.
