As we settle into this season of light, we spend some time contemplating our Unitarian Universalist sacred symbol– the flaming chalice. This Sunday we’ll focus on its history as a symbol of safety and freedom, while also considering the ancient Jewish story of Hanukkah, which ended only a few days ago on December 15th. Liberating Love

Perfectionism and self-doubt are hardly liberating and it’s all too easy to get pulled into the “unworthy of being loved” trap. Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love, is a passionate advocate of accessing the love deep within us by writing letters FROM love. Let us begin our new theme this month with self-reflection and self-love.
